Meet your Storyteller.
“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”
– Lao Tzu
Matthew’s journey as a professional videographer and digital storyteller may be different than most, but the fundamental skills and experience he has acquired across the past two decades, have positioned Matthew well to match the unique needs to tell your story.
While Matthew finds a great deal of passion for his freelance work with Frey Day Productions, his “day job” is working as a Video Manager for a large-scale manufacturing company in central Wisconsin.
As a Video Manager, he successfully manages over 50 large video projects yearly, producing high-quality, on-brand content with strong narrative storytelling. His work includes coordinating and capturing testimonial-driven videos, cinematic b-roll, and effectively managing outsourced videographer teams to support video efforts beyond local markets. His ability to blend creative vision with operational structure makes him a valuable leader in corporate video production.
Matthew takes pride in the communication and leadership skills he developed during his 11 years as a Project Executive in commercial construction. Managing multi-million-dollar projects, tight deadlines, and diverse teams taught him how to stay organized and focused under pressure. Now, in his work as a videographer, he brings that same level of coordination and problem-solving to every project—ensuring that everything from project discovery to final delivery runs smoothly, even when the pressure’s on.
As a proud U.S. Navy Seabee Veteran, Matthew served six years active duty, which positively changed who he is today and instilled the can-do spirit he carries forward in all of his life pursuits.
This journey has shaped Matthew into living with integrity and respect, with a healthy dose of humor. After all, a smile is the best gift to give ~ a sentiment that was discovered in simple text found on the back on his Grandfather’s business card.
